InterContinental Returns to Serbia: Delta Holding and IHG Sign Agreement for a Luxury Five-Star Hotel in Belgrade

Delta Holding and IHG Hotels Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel groups, have today officially signed an agreement marking the return of the prestigious InterContinental brand to Serbia. This strategically significant agreement announces the construction of a luxury five-star hotel in the heart of Belgrade, which will enhance the city’s hotel offerings and set new standards in the region

At the signing ceremony held in Belgrade, members of the boards of directors from Delta Holding and IHG’s Europe team were present. This collaboration represents a major step towards strengthening Belgrade’s position as a leading tourist destination in the region, with high expectations for the return of the InterContinental brand.

“The return of InterContinental Hotels Resorts brand signifies a key leap towards further strengthening the tourism and conference sector in Serbia. As a successful partner in Ljubljana, we are proudly announcing the construction of a luxury five-star hotel in Belgrade, with an investment of 100 million euros that will further enhance the city’s infrastructure. Our ambition is for this prestigious hotel to open its doors by the end of 2026 in time for EXPO 2027. Along with the renovated Sava Center, this will significantly improve our city’s capacity for hosting major international events and contribute to further enhancing Serbia’s reputation as a leading destination in Southeast Europe”, said Andrej Sovrović, Board Member of Delta Holding and General Manager of the Hotel Business.

On this occasion, Karin Sheppard, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Europe at IHG Hotels Resorts, expressed her satisfaction with the InterContinental brand returning to Belgrade and emphasised: “The strategic partnership with Delta Holding is of exceptional importance to our group and confirms our joint commitment to advancing luxury hospitality in this part of Europe.
