New Production Facility of Mioni Factory Opens: €16 Million Investment

Mionica, October 1, 2024 — Today, a new production facility of Mioni, a leading manufacturer of mineral water and soft drinks, was ceremoniously opened in Ključ village near Mionica. This €16 million investment marks a significant step forward not only for Mioni but for the entire district of Kolubara. The modernization will double the factory’s production capacity to over 500 million liters annually, enabling the application of the latest technologies and further development of the Mioni brand.

The General Director of Mioni, Saša Mićić, addressed attendees, emphasizing the strategic importance of the new production facility: “This investment reflects our commitment to long-term development, modernization and capacity improvement, creating a solid foundation for future successes. Our new production line, with a capacity of 31,500 bottles per hour for the 1.5-liter format and 44,000 bottles per hour for the 0.5-liter format, allows us to be significantly faster and more efficient during peak demand periods. With the new equipment, we will be able to fill nearly 2 million liters in 24 hours, or 100 trucks of products—double of what we could achieve in previous years. Additionally, by using R-PET materials and producing ‘lighter bottles’ that use over 25% less plastic, we are making a significant step towards sustainable business practices and environmental conservation.”

Mioni is successfully developing its brands while also producing a wide range of private label products for major global and domestic retail chains. Mićić also highlighted that the innovations anticipated for Mioni, with the support of partners, will enable further growth and expansion in regional and global export markets.

In addition to technological advancements, the factory has implemented solar panels as part of its environmentally sustainable business strategy, and the completion of the wastewater treatment plant is another important step in preserving natural resources.

The Mayor of Mionica also attended the opening ceremony and emphasized the significance of this investment for the local community, creating new jobs and enhancing the economy of the entire region.
